How we disclose mentions
Last updated 2026-10-25.
Our customers pay us to get them mentioned in places AI reads. That only works long term if every mention is honest, so these are the rules we place them by.
Editorial mentions
Where a publisher is paid to include a business, the article carries the publisher's own sponsored or partner label, as their policy and the law require. We don't ask publishers to remove disclosure.
Community mentions
- We only answer questions that already exist in a thread. We don't start fake threads.
- Answers come from accounts that disclose their connection to the business, or from genuine users sharing their own experience.
- We don't do undisclosed paid posting. It breaks Reddit's and most forums' rules, and it's an unfair commercial practice under UK consumer law (the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024).
- We don't write fake reviews, on any platform.
Directory and comparison listings
Paid or featured listings are labelled by the directory. Where a listing is on a site we run ourselves, the page says so.
Our own sites
Some best-of pages sit on niche sites we own. Those pages state that the site is connected to Cited and that listed businesses may be customers.
Accuracy
Every mention describes a real business with facts the business has confirmed. If you see a mention of yours that's wrong, email hello@cited.page.
